Scout Led Troop
Minimize

Troop 207 believes that the B.S.A. gives an unmatched opportunity for boys to practice their leadership skills.  To do this, more responsibility lies on the scouts’ shoulders.  Our scouts get together annually to plan the year’s events, campouts, and merit badges.  The Patrol Leaders Council meets monthly to plan each troop meeting and monthly camp out.  This year we have enacted a more in-depth junior leader training session, Troop Leader Training (TLT).  All of this helps Troop 207 achieve youth leadership.

Trail to 1st Class
Minimize

Troop 207 works with our younger scouts to provide opportunities for rank advancement.  Summer Camp also provides a quick start for new scouts on the Trail to 1st Class.

Community Service
Minimize

It is important to have a troop of well-rounded scouts which is why Troop 207 makes an extra effort to give back to the community: we have adopted a stretch of road on Cedar Hills Blvd. to clean; take part in Goodwill Good Turn and Scouting for Food; do grounds clean up projects at Cedar Mill School.  Most importantly, we give back to Christ United Methodist Church who generously lends us space to hold our weekly and monthly meetings.

Eagle Scouts
Minimize

Troop 207 is committed to have as many boys as possible become Eagle Scouts.  Becoming an Eagle Scout is greatly beneficial for a scout's future.  It shows how a scout can be self-motivated and accomplish a big goal through effective planning, which is what our troop is all about.

Camping
Minimize

Campouts are enjoyed every month by Troop 207 and we are glad to bring along Webelo Dens to show them the troop from the inside.  Some of the year’s highlights are horseback riding at Butte Creek, a bicycling campout,  Ft. Stevens and overnight at Nanitch Lodge.

Meetings
Minimize

Troop 207 has its meetings three times a month on Tuesdays.  The meetings run from 7:15 to 8:45, which Webelos are welcome to join.  We start every meeting with a game and then move on to activities to sharpen our scouting skills.   There is also a parent meeting held monthly during a troop meeting, as well as a committee meeting held on the first Thursday of the month.  All parents are encouraged to attend parent and committee meetings.

Financial

Scout accounts are a form of financial aid truly unique to Troop 207.  All scouts have the opportunity to put money in their scout accounts by working at various fundraisers.  After the scout has earned money, he can be reimbursed for purchases of camping equipment, activity fees or Summer Camp fees.  Our Philmont Crew actively participates in fundraisers to pay for their trek.

High Adventure

Although Webelos and first year scouts may be too young now, but as they grow with Troop 207 they will have high adventure opportunities waiting for them.  In 2008 we had a crew  attend Philmont, a nationally known scout ranch in New Mexico. This high elevation trip offered a unique and challenging 12-day hiking trek. Our Troop also plans two-day and longer backpacking hikes.
